Sivakarthikeyan's recent biographical action-drama Amaran was released on October 31 2024. The film has won praise from audiences. Featuring Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan and Sai Pallavi as Indhu Rebecca, Varghese's film has impressed everyone.
Fans eagerly await its OTT debut as Netflix has secured the digital rights. However the streaming release has been delayed due to the film’s continued box-office success. Though initially this film was expected to stream early, it has now been officially announced that the film will stream on Netflix from December 5.
The movie follows Indhu Rebecca Varghese who travels to New Delhi with her family to accept the Ashoka Chakra on behalf of her late husband Major Mukund Varadarajan. Through flashbacks the story unfolds and portrays their love story overcoming familial opposition and Mukund's brave leadership during a crucial mission in Kashmir. His ultimate sacrifice for the nation leaves Indhu heartbroken but determined to honor his memory.
Receiving the prestigious award from President Pranab Mukherjee she reflects on their unbreakable bond and Mukund’s lasting presence in her life. Written by Rajkumar Periyaswamy, Amaran is a Tamil biographical action-war film produced by Raajkamal Films International and Sony Pictures Films India.
