Avon restaurant serves Thanksgiving to those in need

AVON — A mainstay village restaurant closed its doors to regular patrons this Thanksgiving — only to open them for a different purpose. For the first time, Peppermints Family Restaurant hosted a free Thanksgiving meal, serving 120 area residents in need. The meal took place from 11 a.

m. to 1 p.m.
