The odds on which stars will be the next to waltz away from the Strictly ballroom are sure to further divide fans of the show. As Strictly Come Dancing nears the final stages of the competition, the tension is mounting for the celebrity contestants and fans of the BBC talent show. Each week the four judges give their scores on the performances of the stars on the night but the viewers' votes are also taken into account.
The latest results saw EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick and his professional partner Michelle Tsiakkas end up in the dance off against Olympian Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe despite not being at the bottom of the Leaderboard. Jamie was eventually the star to leave the show, which infuriated some fans , who called it a 'fix' and believed he was a much better dancer than reality TV star Pete Wicks , who was at the very bottom of the board. Plenty of viewers at home are clearly voting eagerly for Pete to stay in the competition though and he has managed to keep his place each week thanks to their support.
After the results, Pete admitted to co-host Claudia Winkleman that he was "more shocked than last week" to still be in the running and he later took to social media to thank fans for their support. Announcing that he wished he could "thank every single one of you individually" he went on to acknowledge that he isn’t the best dancer. "Trust me I know I’m not as good as the rest and I’m sorry for that but I’m trying my best, we all are," he wrote.
"I’m just trying to improve and learn as I go. No one is more surprised that I’m still here than me," he added. Although Pete obviously has a legion of fans keeping him in, the latest odds aren’t so favourable to him.
According to the MEN , a supercomputer from FruitySlots.com has worked out who has the highest probability of winning and there’s a clear victor. Love Island ’s Tasha Ghouri and partner Aljaž Škorjanec have topped the leaderboard repeatedly and they have a majority of a 39.
6% chance of winning. Miranda star Sarah Hadland is in second position, with a 18.4% chance of lifting the Glitterball Trophy and JLS star JB Gill, who topped the leaderboard alongside Tasha on Saturday, comes in a close third with 17%.
Pete and other fan favourite, comedian Chris McCausland, could be next in line to leave though. According to supercomputer calculations, Chris has a 10.2% probability of winning while Pete is least favourite with 4.
4%. A spokesperson for FruitySlots.com said: "Sarah Hadland and JB Gill have wowed fans and judges alike as standout stars of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
However, Tasha Ghouri remains the one to watch, emerging as the frontrunner for the Glitterball Trophy. "Our Supercomputer predicts these three talented contestants have the strongest chances of claiming victory, but trouble could be on the horizon for Pete Wicks and Chris McCausland. With the competition heating up and the quarter-finals just around the corner, do they have what it takes to light up the ballroom and steal the spotlight?"
