It’s no secret that Dark Souls studio FromSoftware is on a bit of a multiplayer kick right now. Alongside the upcoming co-op spin-off Elden Ring: Nightreign, the studio is also working on a Nintendo Switch 2 PvE game called The Duskbloods. While FromSoftware is focused on chasing its multiplayer buzz right now, the studio promises that it’s still actively investing in more “single-player focused” titles for its hardcore offline fans to enjoy.

Elden Ring Nightreign studio will still make single-player gamesIn a recent interview with Nintendo, director Hidetaka Miyazaki explained that FromSoftware is not going all-in on multiplayer. While both Elden Ring Nightreign and The Duskbloods have a heavy multiplayer focus, the studio is also working on more single-player titles.“Please allow me to address one thing: as we previously mentioned, this is an online multiplayer title at its core, but this doesn't mean that we as a company have decided to shift to a more multiplayer-focused direction with titles going forward,” Miyazaki told the company.

“The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Elden Ring was also announced,” he said. “And we still intend to actively develop single-player focused games such as this that embrace our more traditional style."It’s not surprising that FromSoftware is developing multiplayer-focused titles right now.

After all, the studio has seen massive success and online support for its multiplayer features since the release of Demon’s Souls on PS3, and that’s only continued with later Soulslikes.https://www.youtube.
