twitter.com/mj1cJsvR4F — Google Gemini App (@GeminiApp) October 30, 2024 The split-screen mode lets you keep Gemini open on one side of the screen while running another app or game on the other. Notably, Gemini on tablets and foldables appears in a floating window with a handlebar for easy movement around the screen.

This is especially useful for tasks like watching a video or reading a webpage while using Gemini to research the same topic or for other purposes. The feature is available on Galaxy Tab tablets, older Galaxy Z Fold foldables, and Google Pixel Tablets and Fold devices. It allows the app to run in a floating window, as long as the interface supports it.

com/RAhigHbIpo — Google Gemini App (@GeminiApp) October 22, 2024 As per a report by The Verge, Google is set to launch its next-generation Gemini AI model in December. The Gemini 2.0 model is aimed at competing with OpenAI, which is also expected to release its next flagship AI model by year’s end.

Additionally, Google is developing an AI-powered agent called "Project Jarvis" to automate web-based tasks. However, Google isn't the only company targeting December for its next AI model launch. Microsoft-backed OpenAI is also reportedly preparing to release its next major AI model by then.

According to The Verge, the new model, codenamed "Orion," is seen as the successor to GPT-4. Unlike Google, OpenAI is expected to release the model to its partner companies, such as Microsoft, enabling them to create their own products and features.
