New Delhi: Participating in beauty pageants is often an exciting opportunity for young individuals, typically in their prime years, to showcase not only their physical beauty but also their confidence, talent, and intelligence. These pageants provide a platform for personal growth, helping participants develop poise, public speaking skills, and self-discipline. For many, it’s a stepping stone toward larger career ambitions in fields such as modeling, entertainment, or advocacy.

While the participants are usually in their youth, full of energy and optimism, the experience also encourages them to embrace their individuality and make lasting connections, all while competing in a celebratory and supportive environment. 80-year-old participates in Korea’s beauty pageant While beauty pageants are usually associated with younger talent, there is an 80-year-old lady who has literally stunned people by participating in a beauty pageant. Choi Soon-hwa, the 80-year-old model from South Korea, is making waves as the oldest contestant in the Miss Universe Korea pageant, standing alongside competitors who could be her grandchildren.

For Choi, age is simply a figure, and she’s determined to demonstrate that beauty, grace, and perseverance are timeless. “I want to astonish the world,” Choi said in an interview with CNN ahead of the pageant’s grand finale. “People will ask, ‘How is an 80-year-old so fit? How has she maintained her physique? What’s her secret?'” ‘It’s crucial to think positively’ With her striking silver hair and undeniable confidence, Choi is set on proving that life after 80 can be just as vibrant and fulfilling.

“Outer beauty is important, but I believe you also need to have inner peace and respect for others,” Choi shared with CNN. She added, “It’s also crucial to think positively. Nowadays, too many people dwell on negativity.

” Born almost a decade before the first Miss Universe pageant in 1952, Choi would have made history had she won Miss Universe Korea, securing her place to represent South Korea at the international Miss Universe competition in Mexico City this November. If she had succeeded, she would have been the oldest contestant in the pageant’s 73-year history. However, Kim Chae-won was crowned Miss Universe Korea on September 24.
