Joe Rogan has expressed admiration for Jake Paul's 'genius' approach to his boxing career and shared concerns for Mike Tyson in their recent bout. The former heavyweight champion Tyson, who returned to the ring after two decades, faced the much younger 'Problem Child' earlier this month, with Paul securing a decision victory. Despite some criticism over how the fight played out, with Tyson barely throwing punches after the first round and Paul suggesting he held back, the event was a record-breaker, drawing 70,000 spectators and earning both fighters a substantial payday.

It is claimed that Paul alone could have made $40 million from the eight-round match. MMA commentator and podcast host Rogan, while discussing the fight on his podcast, couldn't hide his respect for Paul's efforts and even commended his boxing skills. "I don't have anything against Jake Paul," Rogan commented.

"I like Jake Paul. I think what he's doing is genius. I think what he's doing is, like – I mean, he's making insane amounts of money, he's having a great time, he's a legit boxer.

"He's absolutely a legit boxer. If you do [hate him], you're an idiot. But the reality is, Mike is 58 years old, and I was worried.

I love that guy, and he was a hero of mine when I was a kid.", reports the Mirror . Prior to the fight, Rogan had been rooting for Tyson, hoping that 'Iron Mike' would recapture some of his past brilliance.

Ahead of the fight, he took to Twitter to express his anticipation: "I'm getting ready to watch this Tyson vs Jake Paul fight like I'm watching someone cast a spell that I hope actually works. And I don't really believe in magic. But I want to believe.

" However, following Paul's victory, he quickly responded to his own post with a simple statement: "Magic isn't real." Looking ahead, Paul could potentially face off against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr next. The Mexican boxer claims to have been approached by the 27 year old for a match set to take place between March and May next year.

Chavez Jr has previously been defeated by mixed martial arts legend Anderson Silva in the boxing ring, an opponent whom Paul managed to secure a decision victory over in October 2022..
