Shopian, Oct 1: The first randomisation of the counting staff for the 36-Zainapora and 37-Shopian Assembly Constituencies was conducted today in preparation for the counting scheduled for October 8. The exercise took place in the presence of District Election Officer (DEO) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar, at the Mini Secretariat in Shopian. During this process, 90 staff members designated as Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants, and Micro Observers were shortlisted, along with adequate reserve staff.
Arrangements have been made to equip the staff with the necessary training and orientations to ensure the smooth conduct of the counting process. It is important to note that the second randomization will occur one day prior to the counting day, on October 7, when the Assembly Constituencies will be allocated to the counting staff. The third randomization will take place on the actual day of counting, October 8, at 5:00 A.
M., during which tables will be assigned to the counting staff. The first training session for the randomized counting staff will be held on October 3, in the Meeting Hall of the Mini Secretariat, Shopian, where comprehensive training on handling EVMs will be conducted.
