Residents in Chippenham are being advised that their bins will be collected as soon as possible following flooding caused by Storm Bert last weekend. The Wiltshire Council website states that the household waste collection service is operating as normal but states "please make sure your bin lid can be lifted, and is not frozen to the body of the bin." They recommend residents in Chippenham and Draycot Cerne to leave their recycling bins presented if it is safe to do so and these will be collected as soon as possible, providing the bin lid is not frozen to the body of the bin.
A Wiltshire Council spokesperson said: "Due to the recent heavy rainfall and freezing conditions, we are experiencing disruption to household recycling collections in some areas of Chippenham.
