An 18-year-old was arrested following a police chase on Bolton roads last night after specialist officers spotted a vehicle they suspected was on false registration plates

An 18-year-old was arrested following a police chase on Bolton roads last night (Friday) after specialist officers spotted a vehicle they suspected was on false registration plates. The vehicle was spotted on Wigan Road and failed to stop for police. Specially trained drivers from Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit( TVIU)began a pursuit which ended when the driver attempted to flee on foot before being quickly arrested.

A man, aged 18, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and money laundering. He remains in custody for questioning. READ MORE: 'Can ‘ewe’ help?' Inspector Shafiqur Malik of GMP’s Specialist Operations branch, said: “The arrest last night highlights the excellent work that goes on behind the scenes every day and night across the force. “It showed a dedicated response by officers to apprehend the suspect and I hope this proves that we are successfully able to track, trace and detain those who are blighting our local communities. “Specialist operations are deployed across the force, with hardworking and dedicated officers working day and night to keep people safe and reduce crime and we will continue our patrols and are determined to keep our communities safe using all the resources available to us which covers a broad range of specialised areas and techniques.
