2 dead, 7 injured as luxury bus slams into truck

Vadodara: Two persons died and seven were injured when a luxury bus rammed into the back of a truck on National Highway 48 at about 3.30am on Monday. The accident occurred on the flyover near Golden Chowkdi when the private luxury bus was on its way from Surat to Ahmedabad.

The accident brought traffic on the highway to a halt for some time. The deceased are Chandu Kumbhani, 58, from Ahmedabad and Parth Bavaliya, 25 from Amreli. "Nine people were brought to SSG Hospital, of whom two were declared dead," said Dr Hitendra Chauhan, the resident medical officer.



He said five of the injured persons were discharged. Of the two with grievous injuries, one was referred to Ahmedabad for treatment..
