2 Tampa Bay cities ranked among the safest in the state

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — If you are looking to move to a safer city, you may want to check out two cities in Tampa Bay. SafeWise, a national crime and safety trends researcher, used FBI crime statistics data to rank cities in each state across the country.

The research website looked at crime data from 33 Florida cities to determine the state’s rankings. List: More than 100 JOANN stores set to close Monday Out of the top five safest cities in Florida, two of them are in Tampa Bay: Safety Harbor and Dunedin. Safety Harbor took the second spot on the list and Dunedin took the fourth.



Neither city reported any murders, according to the report. SafeWise said Marco Island is the safest city in Florida for the second year in a row. Here are the safest cities in Florida, according to SafeWise: SafeWise’s State of Safety survey showed that Florida residents are less likely to experience crime compared to nationwide averages.

Reported gun violence experiences decreased by nearly half year over year in the Sunshine State, and more people believe crime is decreasing overall. “Despite these positive trends, Floridians have above-average concerns about crime and safety in the US,” SafeWise said.
