Three people are in hospital following a stabbing and a car crash involving a tram stop in Melbourne's CBD this morning.

A 21-year-old man is in hospital after being stabbed by a teenage girl in Melbourne's CBD this morning. Police are investigating the stabbing, which took place on Flinders Street, between Elizabeth and Queen streets, about 5:30am. It is believed the teenage girl was in a group of about 10 to 15 other people, when she approached the victim and stabbed him.

He had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital. Police believe the pair did not know each other, and no arrests have been made so far. Meanwhile, about the same time, a car travelling west along La Trobe Street crashed into a tram stop, just west of King Street.
