Gurgaon: A 24-year-old woman was found dead inside the bathroom of a home in Sector 10 on Saturday. The deceased's father has alleged foul play, claiming that her daughter's in-laws informed them that she had died of a heart attack. However, he told police that his family suspects that their daughter died due to harassment over dowry.

Sajana's father told police that a dispute over dowry began six months after the marriage, leading to frequent quarrels with her in-laws. Meanwhile, a case was registered under sections 80 ( dowry death ) and 3(5) (common intention) of the BNS against the in-laws, and a probe is underway.
A police officer privy to the investigation said that the autopsy did not reveal any external injuries or signs of physical violence on Sanjana's body. However, a detailed medical report is still awaited for a conclusive assessment. Sanjana was undergoing treatment for tuberculosis, said a police officer.
