The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said that an earthquake of magnitude 5.9 struck Afghanistan's Hindu Kush region early Wednesday morning, with tremors felt in parts of India, including the Delhi-NCR region. The NCS reports that the earthquake happened 75 km below the surface.
Particularly close to the epicentre, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 is thought to be powerful enough to cause significant damage. But as of yet, there have been no reports of damage or casualties.
