The fourth edition of the Brussels Premier Padel Tournament, started on April 21, is now set to host the quarterfinals, with the tournament culminating with the grand finales on April 27 at the Gare Maritime in the Tour and Taxis complex, a striking architectural venue in the heart of the Belgian capital. The tournament marked the second European stop of the 2025 Premier Padel season. The organisers have left no stone unturned to make the €262,250 tournament a grand success, with an estimated 70,000 spectators expected to visit the venue, including 30,000 ticketed visitors, in the last two days.
Despite early uncertainty over a potential boycott of the P2-level event due to a dispute between players and the Qatar-backed Premier Padel Tour over the unilateral introduction of new rules, the event received significant traction, with the majority of top 100 players turning up. The presence of five Belgian players added to the growing enthusiasm. Helena Wyckaert and An-Sophie Mestach on the women's side, and Clément Geens, Isaac Huysveld, and Maxime Deloyer on the men's side, represented Belgium.
In the previous edition of the event, Argentina's Federico Chingotto and Spain's Alejandro Galán won the men's titles, while Spain's Beatriz González Fernández and Argentina's Delfina Brea Senesi claimed the women's titles. Brussels is excited about the event, and Vincent Laureyssens, chairman of the organising committee, said, "This year's line-up is particularly special after a rocky start to the season." "Once again, we are going to prove that Brussels is the world capital of padel," he added.
The tournament will also pay tribute to Argentina's Fernando Belasteguín, known as "King Bela," a legend of padel. Get Latest News Live on Times Now along with Breaking News and Top Headlines from Padel, Sports and around the world..
