Nearly 9,000 fans crammed in to Gigg Lane to roar the Shakers to a 4-0 victory against Burscough as they were crowned NWCL Premier Division champions. Bury will now play in Northern Premier League West and Adams insists there are more promotions to come for Dave McNabb and his squad. For Adams himself, it was the perfect ending to a career that has gone full circle.
“I can’t sum it up in to words other than I started here as a 16-year-old boy and finished here at 38 with a promotion at Gigg Lane,” he said. “It is a fairytale ending for myself and my family and they were all here to witness it as well so a special day for me. “I am just so happy for everyone involved to see what this football club has been through and to see that, it was amazing, something that I won’t forget.
“I really think they can go on a journey and I really think they can go through the leagues.”.
