A four-mile stretch of Interstate 15 will be closed to all traffic every weeknight this week after 10 p.m., as construction work continues on a new interchange.
The Utah Department of Transportation is closing the interstate in Davis County, in both directions between 200 North in Kaysville and Park Lane in Farmington, so crews can place beams on a new interchange on Shepard Lane in Farmington. The stretch of I-15 will close at 10 p.m.
each night this week, Monday through Friday. It will reopen at 6 a.m.
Tuesday through Friday, and at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Drivers will be sent on a detour to Kaysville’s Main Street and U.S. Highway 89.
Drivers should expect heavy travel delays during the closures, UDOT warned. People living in the area also expect increased noise, dust, vibrations and truck traffic while the construction is going on. The new interchange is designed, UDOT maintains, to reduce congestion and improve safety.
The interchange will cross over both Union Pacific and Utah Transit Authority tracks, and improve pedestrian and bike connectivity along Park Lane, UDOT says. The interchange is expected to open in late 2026. UDOT warns drivers that weather may change the construction schedule — so check for updated information on the UDOT website, udottraffic.
