Actor Abhinav Shukla has reported receiving a disturbing death threat on social media from an alleged Lawrence Bishnoi gang member, following his remarks about Asim Riaz. Actor Abhinav Shukla was left shaken on Sunday after receiving a chilling death threat on social media from an individual claiming to be associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The threat stemmed from Abhinav’s recent comments about Bigg Boss 13 contestant and rapper Asim Riaz, following an altercation on the reality show Battleground.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Abhinav shared a screenshot of the disturbing direct message he received on Instagram. The message, sent by a user identifying himself as Ankush Gupta, contained expletives and referenced the 2024 incident where bullets were fired outside Salman Khan’s residence. “I’m from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang.
I know your address. Should I come over? Just like Salman Khan was shot at, I’ll come to your house and shoot you with an AK-47," the message read in Hindi (translated). Even more disturbingly, the sender went on to threaten Abhinav’s family and guards, claiming to be aware of his daily routine.
“This is your last warning. Before you say anything about Asim, your name will be on the list. Lawrence Bishnoi is with Asim," the message warned.
Abhinav also posted a screen-recorded video of the threatening user’s Instagram profile, highlighting that the individual appears to be based in Chandigarh. He tagged Punjab and Chandigarh Police in his post and wrote, “DEATH THREATS to my family! @DGPPunjabPolice @PunjabPoliceInd @DgpChdPolice @ChdPol — Person seems to be from Chandigarh/Mohali. Please act firmly & promptly.
To anyone who recognises the person, please report." The Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka actor later revealed that the online harassment extended beyond him. His wife, actor Rubina Dilaik, also received abusive messages from a section of Asim’s fans.
He shared multiple screenshots of the hateful DMs and comments targeting their family. Tensions between Asim Riaz and Rubina Dilaik began on Battleground, where both served as panelists. The two frequently clashed, with Asim repeatedly questioning Rubina’s authority on the show.
Matters escalated during a verbal altercation in which Asim allegedly insulted her on-camera. Later, when a fan asked Abhinav to comment on Asim’s attitude toward Rubina, the actor responded with a sharp dig, tweeting: “All jacked up with 💉, no brain and bad attitude is not a sign of fitness." Reports suggest that following another heated exchange on the show, this time involving co-judge Abhishek Malhan (aka Fukra Insaan), Asim was removed from Battleground.
However, the rapper dismissed the speculation on social media, tweeting, “I didn’t get kicked out, I kicked the script." As of now, no official statement has been issued by the show’s makers. Police action regarding the death threat is awaited.
