As the backlash intensified, Abhishek chose to deactivate his X (formerly Twitter) account. The timing of the incident has made it even more sensitive, coming just days after the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives. The chain of events reportedly began when commentator Abhijit Iyer Mitra shared a provocative post targeting women from Pakistan, prompting a string of replies that led to Abhishek’s controversial response.



Replying to it, a social media user from Pakistan who goes by the username @lilmisskhawaja, wrote, “Zero class. Abuses is not equal to humour. The whole world sees your country as this hub of rapists and rightfully so.

This is ‘funny’ according to the average Indian. You lot deserve all the racism you’re facing in the west". Abhishek replied to it with a “yup.

" His response didn’t sit well with many on social media, triggering a wave of criticism that eventually led him to deactivate his account. One comment read, “Ashamed to ever think your were good. You guys are so blind for hate towards everyone apposing your view they would literally SUPPORT A PAKISTANI in this critical time.
