Addenbrooke's Hospital is encouraging people who have lost loved ones to take part in the Walk to Remember.

Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) has announced its annual 'Walk to Remember' event, which will take place throughout May. The charity is encouraging participants to walk 30 miles in memory of their lost loved ones. Emily Willdigg, community relationships manager at ACT, said: "It can be anywhere from a walk in one of your favourite places – to somewhere that holds special memories of your loved one.

"Even if they have people close to them that they can talk to, there are always going to be those times when the experience of losing someone can feel very sad and isolating." "With Walk to Remember, what we really want to do is to be able to give people that special way to remember the person they have lost and acknowledge the imprint that that person has left on their heart." The funds raised from the event will go to ACT, the official charity for Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals.

The charity supports cutting-edge equipment, groundbreaking research, and improvements to the environment for both staff and patients, beyond what the NHS can provide. Participants are asked to raise a suggested minimum sponsorship of £150. They can also post photos and messages to their loved ones on a dedication wall on the charity’s website.
