How will the interns manage last-minute train or flight booking?

Indian IT giant Infosys laid off some 700 trainees after they failed multiple internal assessments. The termination at the company’s Mysuru Campus drew massive flak online for the ruthless announcement to the prospective employees. The recruits who joined the firm in October 2024 were suddenly asked to leave the premises.

Several of them were stranded, including female interns. The layoff had been under scrutiny. Per The News Minute, the Narayana Murthy co-founded venture has again let go of 370 more interns.

More often than not, the training provided is abysmal, the training material is pathetic, which employees are not allowed to take home (for 'security & privacy reasons’), which means that, unless you are good at rote.” Several claimed that, “ This happens every year.” Another user wrote, “ If _employees_ that have completed probation, and have been on the payroll for more than a year are fired, then the term "lay off" will be appropriate.

In the instant case, the headline should be: "240 B.E graduate trainees fail qualifying tests at Infosy s." These sweat shops lay off employees at the drop of a hat.
