NY Post readers discuss Letitia James’ potential prosecution for falsely listing a Virginia home as a principal residence.

The Issue: Letitia James’ potential prosecution for falsely listing a Virginia home as a principal residence. I’m sure people are jumping for joy to see the tables turned on New York’s unqualified Attorney General Letitia James ( “Virginia is for liars,” April 17). It’s no secret that she was on a witch-hunt (only fitting for a witch) to politicize the prosecution of anything that President Trump did.

Now that she is the one in the hot seat, let’s see how many liberals come out against her. No one is above the law, as was stated by the left. Now I am sure there will be an excuse or defense they come up with, trying to explain her alleged mortgage fraud.

What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Lock her up, fine her and fire her. Why should anyone’s tax dollars be paying for a fraud? Pete Vardakis Morris Plains, NJ Tish James may now need private lawyers to defend herself personally for alleged financial crimes against US taxpayers.

It will be interesting to see how she weathers the storm of accusations, investigations, probable indictments, trials and possible disbarment. In her case against President Trump she said that “no one is above the law.” I hope she meant herself as well.

Paul Burgdorf Latham We’ve known now for some time that Letitia James hates old people, males and particularly white males, through her description of Trump as too male, too pale and too stale. Now it appears she subscribes to the “do as I say and not as I do” philosophy. As a lawyer and particularly an attorney general, if the allegations alleging fraud are proven true, not only should she be immediately removed from office but jailed.

Hopefully the wheels of justice will turn quickly. Steven Cassidy Franklin Square Another day, another crook; who’s next? Letitia James is in trouble for possible mortgage fraud, wire fraud, mail fraud and false statements to a financial institution. I thought all these mortgage scams were a thing back in the ’70s and ’80s.

Nothing new here: just another corrupt politician. Harve Kaye Brooklyn Letitia James, who went after Trump wanting to prosecute him to the fullest, is now on the other side of the coin with the federal government investigating her for possible prosecution involving mortgage fraud. If this is true, she certainly has her hand caught in the cookie jar.

This is a serious allegation; so serious she could lose her position and face jail time. After all of her grandstanding against the current president, her house wasn’t in order. If anything, she should step down as state attorney general.

First the prior governor, then the current mayor and now the attorney general of New York have tainted records. Joseph Comperchio Brooklyn It seems like the chickens have come home to roost, if James indeed committed fraud and needs to be subject to criminal sanctions. In various government documents, in order to secure a better mortgage rate, she listed her father as her husband and listed a Virginia home her principal residence.

She also listed a Brooklyn building she owns as a four-unit apartment, when it apparently had five units. All these false statements entitled her to the lower rates that she otherwise would not have been entitled to. As she famously said to Trump: “No one is above the law.

” Well, Tish, now you’ll have to use your own funds to legally defend yourself. Harold Fishman Manhattan It’s very ironic that James now finds herself in the same bind she so zealously used to harass Trump about. Her alleged falsification of mortgage documents reveals her to be either a hypocrite or clueless; neither of which is a good look for someone in her position.

Peter Kelly Hazlet, NJ How can James afford to buy multiple properties, including a Brooklyn brownstone, on a public servant’s salary? The gap is positively Bidenesque.
