Greater Manchester’s ‘first’ inflatable and trampoline park is vying for Bolton News’ Best Indoor Family Entertainment 2025. AirVault Inflatable & Trampoline Park in Westhoughton’s Wingates Industrial Estate is of the top ten finalists in our competition, chosen by Bolton News readers. The park was opened nearly 10 years ago by two Bolton dads with a dream – Andrew Caldwell and Mark Denison.
Andrew had been an accountant, but considered changing his career after his wife Louise had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014. Mark and Andrew got to know each other through their wives and set up their own company, Active Entertainment – seeing the potential of the American trampoline park craze. They opened AirVault Inflatable & Trampoline Park in 2015.
The Wingates park billed itself as Greater Manchester’s ‘first combined inflatable and trampoline park’ and was based on ‘free-jumping’ with inter-connected trampolines and attractions like a basketball hoop and dodgeball court. Now, nearly ten years later, it is going strong. Last year, it decided to to bounce back from the pandemic and debt by replacing all its inflatable equipment in a ‘big renovation’.
It added a new inflatable jump tower, as well as a climbing wall, slides, an obstacle course, an inflatable sports court – and even UV parties. And people have loved coming to the indoor centre, whether for children’s parties or just a day of fun. Reviewers have praised its inflatable slides and reasonable prices.
A reviewer wrote: “I took my two-year-old boy and he absolutely loved it. “You can bounce on the twenty or maybe 30 trampolines they have or go on the inflatable slides. My two year old was entertained for the full hour.
“Probably best if you have a little one. We will definitely return.” Another reviewer wrote: “I held my daughters seventh birthday party here.
“From the initial enquiry to the moment we left, the staff were amazing. “It was very stress free and good value for money. All the children had an amazing time.
