This marks Aldi’s most aggressive expansion in a single year to date.The supermarket chain from Germany has its US headquarters are in Batavia, Illinois.The chain officially entered the Las Vegas market Thursday, opening two new stores.
The locations debuted in Henderson and North Las Vegas, Nevada.A third site is slated to open in May at Rainbow Boulevard and Arby Avenue in Las Vegas.The grand openings kicked off with a Vegas casino-themed celebration.
To access carts, customers received special Aldi poker chips—sized like quarters—that function as 25-cent deposits.Henderson visitors could also enter a one-day-only “High Savers Room” experience.Local CBS affiliate KLAS covered the launch, pointing out that Aldi offered a dozen eggs for $4.
