Sumaya Ali homered for Wayne Valley, which scored a walk-off run in the bottom of the seventh inning to nab a 7-6 win over Ridgewood in Wayne. 4/23 - 4:15 PM Softball Final Ridgewood 6 Wayne Valley 7 Wayne Valley fell behind 6-5 in the fifth inning but battled back with runs in the sixth and seventh. Ali provided a multi-hit game, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and the second homer of her senior season.
Ali’s teammate, Sophia Buroc, added a hit, RBI run and two steals. Lilliana Houser logged a double, two runs and a steal. For Ridgewood, Bailey Jacobsen provided a two-run home run to keep her team in the game.
Caroline Staiano had two hits and an RBI in the loss. Wayne Valley improved to 6-5. Ridgewood fell to 5-7.
