All the fun of the fair rolls into town to mark very special anniversary

A charity in Boltin is hosting a fun-filled spring fair to help mark its 20th anniversary of helping people from homelessness and others in need.

All the fun of the fair rolls into town next month for a very special celebration. This year marks 20 years of Emmaus Bolton opening in the town to helping those who are homeless and others in need of help. Since opening in 2005, the charity has been providing a home, support, training and work opportunities for people with experience of homelessness.

By repurposing, reusing and recycling donations, the Emmaus Bolton community has saved tens of thousands of tonnes from local landfill, rescuing 968 tonnes in 12 months alone. Everybody is welcome to the charity’s 20th Anniversary Spring Fair on Saturday 17th May from 10am to 4pm at Emmaus Bolton off Fletcher Street in Bolton, BL3 6NF. Andres, who is supported by the charity and is developing skills in upcycling, said: “Emmaus is an opportunity to get off the streets and change your life.



I want to thank Emmaus supporters. A thousand thank yous for everything. Emmaus has changed my life 100 per cent.

Emmaus Bolton also will be giving a special birthday surprise to the local charity chosen by visitors that receives the most public votes. Visitors can book tickets for afternoon tea leading up to the event and there will be a barbecue, as well as the usual menu of snacks, cakes and light bites available from the charity’s on-site café and ice cream parlour, which serves flavours from Mrs Dowsons dairy farm.

Chief Executive Officer of Emmaus Bolton, Tony Stephenson, said: “We’re hugely grateful for everyone’s support over the years. “By shopping at Emmaus Bolton you’re directly helping the very people you meet when you visit our shops and services, whom the charity is helping rebuild lives from homelessness.” Everybody is welcome to come along to the 20th Anniversary Spring Fair at Emmaus Bolton off Fletcher Street on Saturday 17th May from 10am to 4pm.
