1 2 3 Prayagraj: Students and faculty members of Motilal Nehru Medical College , along with members of the Allahabad Medical Association (AMA), organised a candle march at Medical Crossing on Friday evening to honour the memories of the victims of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. Scores of protestors from the medical fraternity gathered under the poignant message, "The attack on innocent lives has left an unhealable wound," lighting candles in memory of those who lost their lives and reaffirming their commitment to peace and justice. Prominent participants from the AMA included Dr JV Rai (president, AMA), Dr Ashutosh Gupta (secretary), Dr Sujit Singh, Dr Anil Shukla, Dr Ashok Agrawal, Dr Shardool Singh, Dr Kamal Singh, Dr Yugantar Pandey, and Dr Sudhanshu Singh.
Dr Ashutosh Gupta said: "We gather not just to mourn but to pledge ourselves to the cause of peace and justice. Terrorism must not and will not defeat the spirit of humanity. Dr JV Rai echoed similar sentiments, stating: "Our unity today sends a clear message that terror can never overpower the resolve of a united nation.
" The march concluded with a two-minute silence and a pledge by participants to remain steadfast in upholding the values of compassion, courage and resilience, said joint secretary AMA, Dr Santosh Singh. The participants were carrying placards which read, ‘A symbolic message of hope reverberated among the crowd', ‘One candle can light a thousand lamps', ‘Together, we spread the light of hope'..
