Alleged Shoplifter Tries to Run Over Employee With U-Haul

Detroit police were asking for tips from the public after an alleged shoplifter drove a U-Haul at a store employee who was confronting him earlier this month.Footage released via Detroit Rewards TV shows the moment the suspect got into the van and started driving at the Dollar Store employee trying to stop him.The employee, Harold Jackson, told local media that he was trying to reason with a man, who he said had taken some Smart Water, when he jumped into the van and swerved towards him.Jackson said had just enough time to turn out of the way. “If I didn’t turn a little, he would have hit dead set center in my pelvis,” he said.
