Apple expands content discovery toolsApple’s new Snapshot site aims to spotlight celebrities across its services, but its limited content makes for a lackluster launch.

Apple quietly launched a new website called “Snapshot,” designed as a discovery platform for fans to explore celebrities across Apple’s services like Apple TV+, Apple Music, and Apple Podcasts. While the idea of a centralized hub to spotlight artists, actors, and athletes is promising, the current version feels underwhelming due to its limited content and functionality. (@npwitk) April 29, 2025 Apple’s newly launched site, snapshot.apple.com, aims to be a central hub for discovering more about artists, actors, and athletes across its services like Apple Music, Apple TV+, and sports coverage.

Each featured celebrity gets a dedicated profile page linking to their content across Apple’s ecosystem. However, the platform currently feels limited and difficult to navigate, falling short of its promise as a smooth discovery tool. A pause button is available, though it does little to alleviate the frustration. When clicking into a celebrity’s profile and returning, users are sent back to the very beginning of the carousel, forcing them to wait again for their desired profile to reappear. This new celebrity webpage from Apple feels half-baked.

For instance, Cate Blanchett’s page highlights her filmography on Apple TV, music related to her projects on Apple Music, and podcast appearances.

While the idea has potential, the current user experience makes it more efficient to search directly within individual Apple apps for now. Snapshot’s most notable flaw is the absence of a search function, limiting users to just 36 featured celebrities in the slow-scrolling carousel and greatly reducing the platform’s usefulness. This omission, along with the sparse content, suggests Snapshot may be an early test or a rushed release.
