OMAHA, Neb. — Five Creighton pitchers combined to limit the North Dakota State offense in a non-conference game on Tuesday, Creighton allowed seven hits and four walks but also struck out 12 and the Bluejays built a 5-0 lead before the Bison got on the board. Sam Canton plated both NDSU runs, the first with an RBI single in the sixth and a bases-loaded hit by pitch in the seventh.
Jake Schaffner was 3-for-5 and Bennett Freiter was 2-for-3. The Bison are 13-23 overall and open a three-game Summit League series at South Dakota State at 3 p.m.
Friday, April 25, in Brookings, S.D. MOORHEAD — Concordia blew the game open in the first two innings and went on to defeat Crown in a non-conference game on Tuesday at Bucky Burgau Field.
The Cobbers scored six runs in the first inning and three more in the third. Concordia’s Brayden Wolfgram was 2-for-3 with three runs batted in, and Justin Kloster was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI. David Dorsey was 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Ben Shumansky had four RBI.
Cobbers starter Grant Paffrath allowed one earned run on five hits in five innings. Kyle Cluff and Cullen Norland both pitched an inning in relief. The Cobbers are 17-14 overall and resume Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play hosting Gustavus in a doubleheader at 1:30 p.

Wednesday, April 23. MOORHEAD — Concordia won twice against St. Scholastica in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader on Tuesday.
The Cobbers won the first game 8-0 in five innings and took game two 7-4. In the first game, Concordia’s Reese Hauck, Brooklyn Hofer and Jocelyn Maki all homered and Hauck and Megan Guggisberg both doubled. Danielle Lyon was 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Hauck, Hofer and Maki all had two hits.
Cobber starter Bayleigh Frye improved to 12-2 with a three-hitter. She walked one and struck out six. In game two, CSS led 4-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Cobbers tied it on Hauck’s RBI single and Hofer followed with a walk-off three-run homer.
Hauck, who hit a two-run homer in the first inning, and Hofer both had two hits and three RBI, Lily Heskin was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Charlotte Bertram was 3-for-3. Reliever Lauren Staples worked the final two innings to get the win. The Cobbers are not 7-9 MIAC, 19-13 overall.
They play host to St. Catherine in a conference doubleheader at 1 p.m.

MESA, Arizona — North Dakota State placed third after the third and final day of the Summit League Championship at the Longbow Golf Club. Denver won at 281 and South Dakota State was second at 288. NDSU was two strokes back at 286.
NDSU’s Elise Hicks shot 1-under 70 on Tuesday and tied for third place. Elise Hoeven also shot 1-under 70 in the third round and tied for 12th. HORACE — West Fargo Sheyenne and West Fargo Horace split an Eastern Dakota Conference doubleheader on Tuesday.
Horace prevailed 2-1 in the first game and the Mustangs countered with a 4-2 win in the second game. In the first game, the teams were tied 1-1 through 5-1/2 innings but Horace’s Axel Anderson doubled in a run in the bottom of the inning. In the top of seven, Hawks’ starter Cason Borchardt set Sheyenne down in order.
Borchardt allowed an unearned run on one hit in seven innings, walking one and striking out five. Austin Ohleen had the Hawks’ other two hits. In the second, five-inning game, Sheyenne’s Landon Zink allowed two runs on four hits in five innings.
Zink and Tate Herrmann both had hits and RBI and Parker Rolfson and Calan Kliniske both had two hits. Horace’s Ohleen was doubled twice and drove in a run and Axel Anderson also doubled. Sheyenne is 2-2 in EDC points and 6-4 overall.
Horace is 6-2 in EDC points and 8-3 overall. GRAND FORKS — The Fargo Shanley topped Grand Forks Central in Eastern Dakota Conference play behind a solid performance from starter Greg Noel. Noel earned the win on the mound, awarding zero earned runs on one hit and striking out 14 in 6-2⁄3 innings.
Shanley led 9-0 after six innings. Elijah Emineth and Ryan Ommen both had two hits. Jacob Klinicke drove in two runners.
Central’s Nolan Marto and Noah Holter had the lone hits for the Knights. Keegan Hensrud struck out four in the loss. Shanley improved to 2-2 in EDC points and 2-4 overall.
Central is 2-4 in EDC points and 5-3 overall. FARGO — Fargo Davies won a pair of Eastern Dakota Conference games against West Fargo on Tuesday. Davies took the first game 5-3 and came away with a 9-8 victory in game two.
In the first game, Davies’ Kane Mathiason broke up the 3-3 tie with a two-run single to center field in the bottom of the sixth inning to power the win. Caleb Christianson juiced a solo home run in the third inning. Beckett Gigstad earned the win, striking out two in two innings of relief.
West Fargo’s Ethan Bye and Ryan Camarillo both had two hits, and Luke FInn doubled. Parker Hoff worked 5-1⁄3 innings and struck out seven in the loss. In the second, five-inning game, the teams were tied 8-8 heading into Davies’ final at-bat.
But the Eagles put two on with a hit by pitch and a walk with one out, and Kaleb Blanchette followed with a walk-off single to right field. Davies’ Malachi Werremeyer had a hit and two RBI, and Blanchette, Jackson Sturma and Kane Mathiason all had a hit and an RBI. West Fargo’s Luke Finn was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI, Rigley Matteson had a hit and two RBI, and Grayden Peterson, who tripled, and Josh Gustafson both had hits and RBI.
West Fargo is 3-2 in EDC points and 4-6 overall. Davies is 7-1 in EDC points and 9-1 overall. FARGO — Fargo South and Fargo North both picked up an Eastern Dakota Conference win on Tuesday.
South won the first game 6-1 but North battled back for a 4-3 victory in the second game. In the first game, South pitcher Caden Nelson went all seven innings, allowing a run on three hits. He walked two and struck out seven.
Nelson and Carson Shiek both had two hits and RBI, Brander Hilmert had a hit and an RBI and Tate Barnacle was 3-for-4. In the second game, North overcame a two-run deficit with three runs in the sixth inning. North’s Elijah Enger was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
Tanner Kiland and Bo Purdy both had two hits. South’s Hunter Giere and Evan Felber both had two hits and RBI, and Matt Bryant and Henry Schrum both had two hits. South is 6-0 in EDC points and 7-3 overall.
North is 0-6 in EDC points and 4-6 overall. MOORHEAD — Moorhead picked up its first win of the season against Sartell-St. Stephen on Tuesday at Matson Field.
Moorhead’s Carter Huotari was 2-for-4 with three runs batted in, and Carson Heinsch was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Riley Dickhaus was 4-for-4, stole two bases and scored three runs. Ben Fredrickson had two hits and an RBI and Taye Reich had a hit and two RBI.
Spuds starter Easton Groce allowed two earned runs on six hits in five innings to get the win. Reliever Carter Olson pitched no-hit ball over two scoreless innings, striking out three. Moorhead is now 1-2 overall.
GLYNDON — Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton scored the game-winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning on Tuesday. DGF’s Dylan Anderson was 4-for-4 with two RBI and Tanner Cadwell was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Cayson Bergee had a hit and an RBI.
Camden Schreiber got the win in relief. DGF is now 4-1 overall. FARGO — The Fargo Davies Eagles edged Devils Lake in an Eastern Dakota Conference matchup on Tuesday evening.
The Eagles outhit Devils Lake 13-3 in the contest. Pitcher Sophie Rerick twirled a three-hitter, allowing one earned run on three hits, six walks and 11 strikeouts. Olivia Davidson, Emery Motschenbacher, Elle Mann and Reese Dietrich all had two hits.
Devils Lake’s Madison Harris poked an RBI single that scored one run, and two more runs scored on an error in the first inning. Ava Beck and Taylor Leben also had hits. Tylie Brodina struck out four in the loss.
Davies improved to 5-1 in EDC points and 5-4. The Firebirds are 2-4 in EDC points and 3-2 overall. VALLEY CITY — The West Fargo Sheyenne Mustangs defeated Valley City in Eastern Dakota Conference play on Tuesday night.
Sheyenne had 24 hits in the contest. Presley Tveter dealt a one-hitter, granting one hit and striking out nine. Oliva Hendrix was doubled twice and finished 5-for-7 with seven RBI.
Tveter belted a grand slam in the fourth inning. Valley City’s Bailey Leroux had the lone hit. Sheyenne rose to 5-1 in EDC points and 4-3 overall.
Valley City is 2-2 in EDC points and 1-3 overall. FARGO — The Fargo Shanley Deacons defeated the Fargo South Bruins in an EDC rivalry matchup on Tuesday night. The Deacons plated 11 runs in the fourth and 12 in the sixth inning.
Alexa Gregg was 3-for-4 with seven RBI. Emily Anderson drove in four runs on four hits and Taelyn Card was 4-for-4 with two RBI. Card earned the win in the circle, awarding six runs on three hits with eight strikeouts.
South’s Ava Klein was 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double. Mea Nylander was 1-for-2 and knocked in a runner. Shanley rose to 2-0 in EDC points and 1-3 overall.
South is 0-9 in EDC points and 0-5 overall.. FARGO — Grand Forks Red River held on to defeat Fargo North in an Eastern Dakota Conference matchup on Tuesday evening.
The Roughriders led 7-0 after four innings. Mya Mannausau hit a solo home run in the third inning and Jocelyn Berg barreled a two-run home run to center field in the fourth. Berg earned the win in the circle, granting two earned runs on seven hits and striking out 15.
North’s Sonja Gorder doubled, tripled and scored three runners. Leah Hoffman was 2-for-4 with a triple. Red River moved to 4-2 in EDC points and 4-4 overall.
North is 6-0 in EDC points and 4-0 overall. WEST FARGO — West Fargo Horace took two from West Fargo in an Eastern Dakota Conference doubleheader on Tuesday. In game one, Horace held off a West Fargo rally in the bottom of the seventh and won 7-6.
In the second game, Horace rode a seven-run first inning to a 17-3 victory. In the first game, Horace scored a run to stretch its lead to 7-4. West Fargo scored twice with two outs in the home half of the inning but the Hawks got the third out on a force play at third base.
Horace’s Josie Carriere was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI, Katrin Flanagan was 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Leah Holten had a hit and an RBI. West Fargo’s Katelyn Kackman was 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI, and Brynlee Rheault was 2-for-4 with three RBI. In the second game, Horace’s Whitney Nystrom was 4-for-5 with a homer, a double and five RBI.
McKenna Mohs was 4-for-5 with two RBI. Tristyn Struck and Flanagan both had two hits and two RBI. West Fargo’s Kendall Krenz, Brooklyn Williams and Ella Amundson all had a hit and an RBI.

Brainerd’s Mya Tautges fired a no-hitter in a 4-0 win in game one, and the Warriors edged the Spuds 8-6 in the second game. In the first game, Tautges went all seven innings, walking two and striking out 15. The Spuds’ Kenadi Kays took the loss, allowing three earned runs on six hits in seven innings.
She didn’t issue a walk and struck out eight. In the second game, the teams were tied 6-6 through 5-1/2 innings but Brainerd took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the sixth on Jaycee Carlson’s two-run single. Tauges, on in relief, set the Spuds down in order in the seventh.
Moorhead’s Payton Babolian was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI and Madden Bogenreif doubled and drove in two runs. Taylor Kressin had two hits and an RBI. Brainerd is now 6-2 overall.

DGF won the opener 8-0 but Breckenridge took the nightcap 1-0. In the first game, Rebels pitcher Autumn Leach threw a no-hitter, walking four and striking out nine. Katie Kittelson was 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI, and Lexi Froemke was 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Makayla Bjelland had two hits and an RBI, Ellie Boyd had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run. Greta Devries and Mady Myklebust both had hits and RBI.
