In a pivotal year for the Endeavor-controlled sports company, TKO Group Holdings filed its annual proxy statement with the SEC, disclosing compensation packages for its top executives and board members. TKO CEO Ari Emanuel received a package valued at $18.1 million in 2024, down from $65 million a year ago , which was connected to the completion of the deal.
TKO president and COO Mark Shapiro received a package valued at $32 million, up from $16 million a year earlier. Last year was a significant one for the company, with the company now fully in Endeavor control, the WWE inking a long-term rights deal with Netflix, major UFC events including an event at the Sphere in Las Vegas, and a deal to acquire some of Endeavor’s assets, including IMG and PBR. 2024 also saw Dwayne Johnson join TKO’s board of directors.
Johnson, an actor and former professional wrestler known as “The Rock,” received stock compensation totaling $29.9 million, per the filing, and received $900,000 in royalty payments connected to his likeness. TKO has also engaged Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions “to provide production services for a potential non-scripted project,” though no payments were made related to the project last year.
Johnson also appeared on camera in 2024, including an appearance at Wrestlemania, where he partnered with Roman Reigns in a tag-team match against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. TKO also saw its former executive chairman Vince McMahon resign after being named in a lawsuit. McMahon settled charges with the SEC over undisclosed payments earlier this year, and the filing indicates that McMahon made payments of $1.
