Patna: In a move towards enhancing civil-military cooperation , the Danapur army cantonment headquarters of Jharkhand and Bihar sub area organised a high-level synergy conclave with the Bihar Police on the sub area premises on Saturday. The conclave aimed to strengthen coordination and improve operational effectiveness in managing law and order as well as disaster response situations across the region. The military side was led by Maj General Vikash Bhardwaj, general officer commanding of the sub area, while the Bihar Police was represented by Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar.
Discussions focused on fostering mutual understanding, sharing intelligence, joint training programme, and developing swift response mechanisms to tackle emergencies. Both sides emphasised the importance of seamless communication and trust to address modern day security and humanitarian challenges effectively, said a Col rank officer of the sub area. Speaking at the event, Maj Gen Bhardwaj highlighted the importance of inter-agency collaboration in maintaining peace and order, especially in sensitive and disaster-prone areas.
DGP Vinay Kumar echoed the sentiment, calling the conclave ‘a crucial platform for building synergy between two key pillars of national security .' The conclave concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment to regular coordination exercises and establishing standard operating procedures for joint action in crisis situation, said Maj Gen Bhardwaj. While senior army officers of the sub area participated in the conclave, Bihar police's side was represented by ADG rank officials, Kundan Krishnan, Pankaj Darad, IG Garima Mallick and DIG ATS Rajeev Mishra, sources said.
