At The Foundry, 'A Crucible’ turns Arthur Miller on his head in new Fringe-inspired farce

“A Crucible," a satirical new comedy about a bumbling theater troupe’s attempt to stage “The Crucible” for Thanksgiving, blending clowning, chaos and community, debuts at The Foundry on April 26.

WEST STOCKBRIDGE — For Artistic Director Michael F. Toomey and the other members of the Brooklyn-based The Humanist Project, making theater is all about play. “We believe that play is not only the foundation of great acting but also a vital force in artistic creation and human connection,” the company says in its mission statement.
