Union Minister Ramdas Athawale said that India should declare war against Pakistan if Pakistan refuses to hand over Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir to India. He said that if PoK is not handed over, terror activities will continue to exist. This has come days after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack killed 26 people, including tourists, locals and foreign nationals.
The attack took place on April 22, when several armed terrorists walked into the Baisaran area of Pahalgam and opened fire on unarmed people, instantly killing 26 people. It has since been reported that the terrorists asked the tourists to confirm their religious identity and recite the Kalma before killing them. Lashkar-e-Taiba has been believed to be behind the attack.
After the attack, India has taken several steps to retaliate against the attack. These include the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty and the cancellation of the visas of Pakistani nationals in India. India has ordered Pakistani nationals to leave India and return to Pakistan within a specified deadline.
On Monday, India also banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels, saying that they shared sensitive and provocative content and spread misinformation about India. Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath SIngh, on Monday, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack..
