AU holds peaceful protest condemning terror attack

Prayagraj: The recent terror attack in Pahalgam , has shocked and saddened the entire nation. Strongly condemning this cowardly and inhumane act, the Allahabad University united to pay tribute to martyrs and organised a peaceful and symbolic protest across all campuses of university on Friday. This event was simultaneously held across all academic and administrative campuses of university, witnessing the participation of a large number of teachers, employees, and officials from various faculties of the university.

The silent and dignified protest was led by Vice-Chancellor Prof Sangita Srivastava. Accompanying her were heads of various departments, professors and administrative officers of the university. All teachers and employees entered the campus wearing black armbands.



The university administration arranged for black armbands at all main entrances to ensure that all participants could express their condolences and protest through a common symbol. In this regard, the Registrar issued a notification stating that all teaching and non-teaching staff would wear black armbands for one week. On this occasion, the university community expressed condolences to the families of martyrs and reiterated its commitment to maintaining the integrity and peace of the country.
