Most MLAs and MPs from the district participated in the meeting. "The focus of DPC meeting is to improve the quality of work. We have held the DPC meeting early this time so that instructions can be given to all contractors to complete the ongoing works before Dec 31 this year.

After Dec 31, we will appoint an agency to carry out an audit to check the quality of works," Pawar said. According to some elected representatives present at the meeting, the guardian minister criticised the district officials for the poor quality of works. "We faced a situation where some contractors bid 30 to 40 percent below the tender to bag the contract but failed to complete the project.

Now, the govt is contemplating making those contractors deposit money for the work, and only then will they get work. While we are focusing on making sure that every penny is used judiciously, it is also the responsibility of the administration to monitor the quality of the work," Pawar added..
