After 10 years in teaching, Sarah Bates set up Biscuits by Sarah B in 2015, starting with just her home kitchen. During the 2020 Covid lockdown, her builder neighbour transformed her shed into the Cookie Shack, where she creates bespoke biscuits for various events. On Friday, April 25, Sarah celebrated her tenth year by throwing a party at the Brewhouse & Kitchen in Southbourne, where she also launched her re-brand and a new pop-up Sprinkle Table Party Package.

Sarah said: "At the party, she launched her fun and colourful re-brand plus a new pop-up Sprinkle Table Party Package." Her business has grown considerably, with her baking around 1,000 biscuits a month, catering for birthdays, weddings and corporate events. She even counts Castlepoint and South Coast Makers Market as clients.

In addition to her orders, Sarah runs biscuit-decorating classes and parties from her Cookie Shack in Pokesdown. Her biscuits are also sold in The HUB on the Heath Cafe, Canford Heath, The East Street Deli, Wimborne and Little Pickle at the Mill, Wimborne. She also features in the book by Katherine Bebo.
