Barbara Sue Gibson, 86, of Sulphur, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025. She was born to her late parents, Wilbur and Luvela Umberson on Oct. 25, 1938 in Roxton, Texas. Published 5:00 am Tuesday, April 15, 2025 By obitsamericanpress Barbara Sue Gibson, 86, of Sulphur, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025. She was born to her late parents, Wilbur and Luvela Umberson on Oct. 25, 1938 in Roxton, Texas.

She was the owner/operator of Penny Annie Studios as well as South Park RV Park. Barbara loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When their family was young, the Gibsons loved to travel, taking their four children camping every Summer to places like the Grand Canyon, the Ozarks and Pensacola Beach.



In later years, Barbara and Jerry enjoyed taking cruises to locales such as Alaska, the Panama Canal and the Bahamas. They especially loved traveling to visit their grand and great-grandchildren. Barbara is survived by her four children, Veta Sprinkle and her husband Greg of Knoxville, Tenn.

, John “Eddie” Gibson of Jennings, La., DeAnn Gibson of Atlanta, Ga., and Steve Gibson of New Orleans, La.

; 11 grandchildren, Ashley Sprinkle, Avery Hardman and her husband, Nathan, Weston Gibson and his wife, Tanya, Jeff Gibson, Samantha Gardiner and husband, Kyle, Tyler Logue, Zackary Goudeau, Haden Gibson, Lexi Gibson, Cassidy Sinrich, and Harper Sinrich; and 14 great-grandchildren, Jaiden Landry, Bailee Landry, Jordyn Gibson, Kynnadi Gibson, Cami Taylor, Elena Tappan, Maeve Tappan, Thea Tappan, Lincoln Hardman, Lola Hardman, Colbie Gardiner, Autumn Gardiner, August Gardiner, and William Gardiner. She is preceded in death by her husband and high school sweetheart of 56 years, Jerry Gibson. A private visitation was held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.

Barbara was a supporter of animal rescue throughout her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Hobo Hotel for Cats and Kittens or a charity of your choice..
