Bengaluru: Kushagra Gupta , a student of Narayana Co Kaveri Bhavan, Kasavanahalli, secured 100 percentile in JEE Main 2025 paper-1, making him one of the 24 students in the country to do so. Kushagra secured 100 percentile in the first examination of JEE, while in the second attempt, he secured 99.9 percentile.
Originally from Kanpur, Kushagra was brought up in Bengaluru. He completed his class 10 at Primus Public School with 99.9%, holding third position in the state at ICSE exams, before moving to Narayana for his class 11.
"My focus was mainly on improving myself and becoming consistent over time, instead of just going for a top rank. That's it. Our school used to conduct JEE Mains pattern exams every day.
So we used to give new questions daily and I got a lot of practice from that," he said. He is now preparing for the JEE Advanced and hopes to get a seat in IIT Bombay for computer science. He spends around 12-13 hours every day on studies, manages to go out to play when stressed out, and tries to pick back the pace soon after.
"I picked up my interest in engineering in class 11. I liked maths and physics and thought engineering would suit me well," he said. Kushagra's father, Amit Kumar Gupta is an engineer and works with Alstom Transport India Ltd, while his mother, Madhumita Gupta is a doctor and works in Phillips Healthcare as a senior scientist.
The results were announced on April 18 night..
