A special event to promote safe riding – and to collect Easter Eggs for charity – was held in Peterborough . The event was organised by the Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade (PVFB), the UKs only voluntary service, and saw a number of riders turn up to the city centre station on Easter Saturday. It was the second community gathering held by the brigade, with bikers turning up on a range of machinery – sometimes alongside their four legged companions in their sidecar.

Joshua Berrisford, from the brigade, said: “”e spoke to many about PVFB and the fire service as a whole. We met some amazing people including the Freewheel Cruiser Rider's Association who gifted an abundance of Easter Eggs, with PVFB donating soft toys to contribute to their Easter run. They hand out festive goodies and spread cheer to Children’s Hospitals and Care Homes on their travels.

“We also had attendance by Alan and his St Bernard called Louie who was adopted by Alan, his 4th adopted St Bernard who rides in his side car. He was without doubt, the star of the show!”.
