BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Bills general manager Brandon Beane on Friday addressed an accusation regarding the team's top draft pick that resurfaced on social media after the Bills selected Kentucky cornerback Max Hairston Thursday in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Beane said he believed every NFL team was aware of the alleged claim of sexual assault, which dates back to March 2021 when Hairston would've been 17 years old. Beane said the Bills "fully investigated" the situation and found "there was there was zero, zero information saying that this actually happened to what the accusation was.""That's unfortunate when things like that are attached to someone's name," Beane said.
"In this case, it doesn't seem to be anything there."Beane said Hairston even volunteered to take a polygraph test and had his own notes. "He's an impeccable kid," Beane said.
"...
If there was anything to that, he wouldn't have been invited to the combine. He was at the draft last night."NFL draft live blog: Bills focus on athletic defenders with first 3 picksThe Bills drafted Hairston with the 30th overall selection, in line with where draft prognosticators believed he would be taken.
Hairston ran the fastest 40-yard dash of any prospect at the 2025 Combine, finishing in 4.28 seconds. He is expected to compete with veterans Tre'Davious White and Dane Jackson for a starting spot on the Bills defense.
"He's an impeccable kid," Beane said. "..
