Bengaluru, April 22: Bira 91, an Indian craft beer maker, is reportedly facing issues related to the pending salary of the employees amid layoffs and operational turmoil. The Bira 91's current and former employees all are feeling unrest due to pending payments, unreimbursed allowances, and other unsolved dues, as per reports. The employees were told they would start receiving their due salaries soon, but there was no further update from Bira 91.
According to a report by the Times of India , a former employee said that he was told to serve a two-month notice after he resigned in December. However, the employee said that it was suddenly cut short by a month in January. The former Bira 91 sales employee was waiting for 90 days to get the dues cleared, but as per the latest update, it could come on May 31, 2025.

Amid this announcement, the company reportedly reshuffled its staff and told some employees to join different roles or switch their roles. Another employee working in marketing was told to move to sales and migrate to another state. He further mentioned that the same was true for 70% of the employees working with him.
Bira 91 told all these employees to shift to different locations, and those who did not were told to resign. Since last year, Bira 91 beer maker B9 Beverages Private Ltd suffered an INR 80 crore financial loss after it dropped the Private word from its name. Meanwhile, the former marketing executive said that there was a mismatch between expectations and achieved results in the company. Bira aimed to increase its sales but ended up achieving only 40% of its goals. The company became unstable amid hiring and spending, which were attributed to expectations of higher growth.
