BJP KDD recalls sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur

Excelsior CorrespondentJAMMU, Apr 19: BJP Kashmir Displaced District (KDD) held a function here, today to recall supreme sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.The event was presided over by Rajiv Pandita, president BJP KDD, while Hira Lal Bhat, Seh-Prabhari BJP Kashmir, was the chief guest.As a mark of deep respect and communal harmony, two prominent personalities from the Sikh community—Gurmeet Singh and Ranvir Singh Tula—were honoured on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Hira Lal Bhat, presented a detailed account of the early life, upbringing, and spiritual journey of Guru Tegh Bahadur , the ninth Guru of Sikhism.Referring to the defining moment of Guru Ji’s life, Bhat recalled how Kashmiri Pandits, facing religious persecution under Aurangzeb’s regime, approached Guru Ji for help. Guru Tegh Bahadur stood up not only for them but for the universal right to religious freedom.



He bravely refused to convert to Islam and was ultimately martyred in 1675 at Chandni Chowk, Delhi.Rajiv Pandita, in his presidential address, urged the community to follow the ideals and footsteps of Guru Tegh Bahadur.M.
