Apr. 29—JAMESTOWN — The Jamestown High School girls' soccer team was unable to break the deadlock in a 1-1 tie against Bismarck Century on Tuesday, April 29, at the Blue Jays' Rotary Soccer Field.The Blue Jays (5-1-1) got on the board first when Layla Becker fired a cross into the far post from just outside the box to give her team a 1-0 lead with 30:22 to go in the game.
The goal is Becker's seventh of the season. The hosts' lead lasted until there was 20:49 to go in the game when the Patriots' Alaina Stramer got in on goal and fired one home to tie the game up at one.Despite the one goal, the Jays kept Patriots (4-1-1) goalie Jocelyn Haider plenty busy with 11 shots on goal.
The Jays' Anna Lunde saved three of the four shots she faced.The Blue Jays are back in action at 6 p.m.
