Bolton domestic abuse charity Fortalice is calling on locals to join its fells walk fundraiser to help support survivors. The Fortalice Fells Walk takes place on Saturday, July 5, inviting people of all ages to walk either 9K or 4.5K across the Pennine moors.
The route covers Winter Hill and Rivington Pike, with scenic views of the Cumbrian fells, Blackpool, and the Manchester skyline. The walk will be across the Pennine moors (Image: Supplied) Walkers can join family, friends, or colleagues, or take on the challenge solo. All participants will receive an official event t-shirt, a finishers medal, and a pasty at the end, kindly donated by Carrs.

People of all ages can get involved (Image: Supplied) Fortalice hopes to raise vital funds for its services, including its crisis 24-hour phone line. Events like this help provide support for those experiencing domestic abuse.
A previous client of Fortalice said: "Don't ever underestimate how vital it was that someone was available to answer the phone that day and every day forward, talking everything through with me. "It was key in unlocking what I had been dealing with and making those important steps towards healing. "Cannot thank you enough, Fortalice.

Last year, the walk raised more than £7,000, all of which went towards helping victims of domestic abuse and their families. A former resident of Fortalice said: "I feel security, safety and freedom here.
"Everyone is very positive and supportive, my kids are improving here day by day, and all the staff here feel like family. "Thank you." More than £7,000 was raised last year (Image: Supplied) Fortalice provides frontline services, outreach in the community, education, accredited training , and refuge accommodation for up to 22 women and 70 children.
