Bond granted for woman charged in fatal Holts Summit shooting

A Callaway County judge has set bond for the Holts Summit woman charged with murder in connection to the fatal shooting at Hunter Lane Apartments. Bond was set Monday to $150,000 for Heather Smith , 37, who is charged with second-degree murder, three counts of unlawful use of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child and armed criminal action, according to court records. Smith is charged in connection to the April 13 shooting death of Kara Dills .

The incident left two other people injured, including one man who was charged with assault after he allegedly tried to hit a deputy after the shooting . Smith has been held at the Callaway County Jail without bond since April 18. Conditions for Smith's release state Smith will not be allowed within 500 feet of Hunter Lane Apartments and will be fitted with a GPS monitor, court records show.
