A solicitor from Bolton has been named Legal Professional of the Year at th3 2025 prestigious Made in Manchester Awards. Jenna Atkinson, 36, who lives in Lostock, was chosen from hundreds of nominees and shortlisted to the final eight before taking home the title. Jenna was praised for her ‘authenticity and kindness’ by judges.
Jenna, who has worked at law firm Harrison Drury for six years said: “The Manchester office has only been open just over a year, so I wasn’t expecting to win at all! “I was nominated for the award anonymously, there was the highest number of entries for the Made in Manchester Awards this year so it felt an honour to be shortlisted to the last eight and I was not expecting to win but was so proud to win the Legal Professional of the Year. My passion for that area of law is because I have always wanted to help others through what can often be one of the worst times of their lives when the family breaks down.
“Part of my work is supporting clients through the breakdown of relationships and domestic abuse cases. “People always need hope at a time like that, I would say that’s one of the greatest privileges I have in the work I do, is giving someone that hope.” As well as her career in law, Jenna is also a trustee on the board of Endeavour, a local charity that helps victims of domestic abuse and their pets.
Jenna added: “The charity does amazing work to help victims of domestic abuse and it something I am very proud to be a part of. “A few years ago I held an event with speakers to raise awareness for domestic abuse and also funds for Endeavour and Backup – two amazing local Bolton charities. “If anyone would be interested in speaking or having a stall (as I am planning to do another event later this year) then please get in touch.
