Bournemouth poet launches book inspired by near-death experience

James Sale, from Bournemouth, launched his new book, , on Tuesday, April 22. The book is the third in his series of poetry books, . It is based on the poet's reflections on a near-death experience in Ward 17 of the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

The launch event at The Cosy Club saw guests treated to readings by Mr Sale and his son Joe Sale. Joe is a novelist who has just completed the script for a film inspired by HellWard, which is the first book in the series. He will be directing the film later this year.



The event also featured artwork inspired by the book, which will be displayed at The Wider Circle art exhibition in Upton Country Park from Thursday, June 5 to Monday, June 16. Mr Sale said: "When I was being treated for cancer at Royal Bournemouth Hospital in 2011, I had a life-changing out-of-body experience. "I wanted to capture my experience through poetry.
