Police responded to a report of a vehicle being driven the wrong way on Rosser Avenue at 8 a.

m. Sunday. Officers found the vehicle on the 400 block of 12th Street and arrested the driver.

Police say their investigation revealed that the suspect stole the vehicle from a friend and used it during an altercation. As well as trying to pin another woman against a building with the vehicle, the suspect also attempted to assault her with a knife, according to a Brandon Police Service media release. The woman was charged with driving while impaired, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and mischief under $5,000.

She was held in a BPS detention cell for a scheduled appearance in court. A 23-year-old man who was a passenger in the vehicle was charged with failing to comply with a release order that prohibited him from consuming alcohol. » The Brandon Sun Advertisement.
